In this section you will find some valuable resources to help you with your Backyard for Wildlife.
Backyards For Wildlife BookletThis booklet describes how you can develop an environmentally friendly garden that attracts and supports native wildlife using Backyards for Wildlife principles.
During a period of climate change and water conservation, local native gardens make practical sense because they do not need as much water to survive, they provide food and habitat for our wildlife, and they reduce the threat of invasive environmental weeds. Native Growers ListUnfortunately, not all nurseries around Adelaide stock our locally native plants. Please click HERE to download a PDF list (110KB) of nurseries that supply locally native plants and have registered their details with us. These growers generally try to specialise in their local area so try your closest grower. For more information on Native Grasses Suppliers see the Native Grass Resources Group.
Please note that this is not a complete list and anyone wishing to be added should supply the required details in an email to info@urbanforest.on.net

FlyingFoxWatch@sa.gov.au to report their location to the Department. Thank you.

Garden Escapee Weeds BrochureThis garden escapee weeds brochure has been developed to raise greater awareness of common (and sometime popular) garden plants that have a strong ability to escape and become big environmental weeds. Please take a look and consider replacing any plants you might have with non-invasive ones. Or at least be much more aware of their spreading ability and minimise any possible risk through careful management. To view the brochure click on the picture or HERE.
You are invited to join our mailing list by becoming a Friend of the Urban Forest. You can sign up electronically HERE, or you can download, print and fill in some extra details using THIS FORM.
By becoming a Friend, we can keep you better informed about Backyards for Wildlife and some of the important conservation activities that we are doing. If you would like to get involved, becoming a Friend is an easy way to start.
